Hello all;Thank you to all of you that have contributed some excellent resources. First time on the site and it has been a great help! I have attached a practise exam for the MGD - hope it's ok - bit rushed but my pupils seemed to like the practise.KellyMock%20Exam%20Paper.docContinue

I've made a 'speed dating geography' activity for revision of Unit 1. You need to allocate each student with a number, ideally displayed on themselves ie sticky label and give them one of the topics each (print it and cut them all up). I've added page references from the green book to help students with the task. Students have to take on the role/personality of the place/process and write a description of themselves. They will need a blank copy each of the speed dating resource. They have…Continue

I was wondering whether any one had done their controlled assessment by NOT getting the students to produce a traditionally written document. I went to a training course where they said the controlled assessment could be done through power point or a display board. Has any one tried these methods as I am struggling to visualise how these would work with the mark schemes.Continue

Hi all I've had a very novice attempt at a mock exam (attached below) for the Unit 3 Olympics DME. I have followed last years layout and mark allocation (I know its likely to change this year!). I know that the ZigZag resource pack has a mock exam but I didn't want to buy the whole lot just for the mock exam so I would greatly appreciate some critical feedback on my attempt so I can gauge whether I'm on the right lines and improve it! I'm an NQT and first time teaching Edexcel Geography B…Continue

Almost all case studies follow those published in the Oxford Textbooks - please check content before delivering there maybe errors. I have used these in revision sessions to generate mindmaps with students - they have commented on its usefulness.

Hi! I've been making revision videos for my year 10 and 11 students and posting them on youtube. They're not amazing, mainly just me talking through some of the key points in each unit, but quite a few of my students havesaid they have found them useful. There are just 5 up at the moment, but more to follow over the next couple of weeks. If you think they will be useful search for 'miss room geography' on youtube and take a look!
