New Edexcel B GCSE Geography

Creating a new course together...

Dear all,

I was wondering if anyone has put together a booklet for the controlled assessment that they give to the students.

If anyone has, would they mind sending it to me so I could have a peak - I am the only geographer at my school and have no people to run ideas by etc so am having a bit of a stress about the controlled assessment!

I am doing a project about how sustainable the olympics are going to be, if anyone has ideas about primary research they could do I would also be eternally gratefull!

Massive thanks in advance

I am in the process of creating a workbook and writing a policy, so will upload what I've done shortly (hopefully by the end of the week!)

I have had a bash at one - but I am a newbie to Edexcel GCSE so would appreciate any feedback - did 'borrow' some parts of the Edexcel book.

Kelly, Really good thank you.
My only addition would be examples of the various elements from the booklet and more importantly from Edexcel exemplars. Students need to envision what is described in your booklet,
Stephen.
Thank you Stephen for your advice. I did plan to give out examples and am umming and arring whether to put it in the booklet or give out separately. I have experimented with coloured paper before - so all the instructions, examples etc for each section of the mark scheme is in the same colour e.g. red for intro, yellow for method etc. Not sure i can afford the luxury of coloured paper this year - but it certainly worked well for my BTEC travel and tourism students.

I did one but it's quite comprehensive and could do with simplifying and have I have relied heavily on the various textbooks, including the specific CA booklet created by Dave Holmes, and the Edexcel guidance. Have also included Noel Jenkin's 'ten ways to google up your project' at the end. I need to do a checklist for it though, just like yours Kelly!

Yes! Thanks Jon .... what I really want (in my role as DH) is a look at another schools CA policy - has anyone written one I could look at? I have written one for our school and I am happy to share it if it would help anyone out there.
